Unleash your inner comedy monster! Put the fun in your body and move it around like crazy!

In this workshop we'll explore the world of commedia through individual and group improvisational exercises in physical and vocal playfulness.

- It's your chance to get under some of the most exquisitely crafted leather masks in the world (they're half masks -so you can talk!).

- Breathe life into the mask by discovering an extraordinary physical expression and invention.

- Investigate Commedia archetypes from Harlequino to Pantalone, so that you can unlock the code of Commedia characters in works from Shakespeare and Moliere to The Simpsons and Law and Order, expanding your acting toolkit.

- Master physical character creation, Use the masks to create specific characters who connect to the audience.

- Spark Laughter: develop quick thinking and spontaneity on stage. Embrace your playfulness to generate material so surprising and true they'll have to laugh and cry!

- Become a scene-stealer: Learn the secrets to discover exciting and unique games like full pantomime hypotheticals, simple rhythmic and gesture games, verbal gymnastics and "The Cascade" where one thing makes you think of another and you get way off topic as you pursue your fun until you make your back to, what's it called... your point!

  • Hours: July 29th - Aug 2nd, 10a.m. - 4 p.m. (with an hour off for lunch)
